Antique and highly collectible The mark refers to Ketcham & McDougall, a New York-based company established in 1832 that ceased production in 1932. The patent date of February 24, 1903, specifically refers to the patent for the retractable mechanism often used in their items, such as watch fobs, thimbles, or eyeglass holders, many of which were made in gold-filled material.
The value of your item depends primarily on two factors:
1. Material (Gold vs. Gold-Filled)
Items by Ketcham & McDougall were made in both sterling silver and gold-filled materials.
Gold-filled: Most pieces found for sale are gold-filled and have an antique/collectible value rather than a scrap gold value. Though some gold value up to 400.00 depending on the price of gold
